QCMP023. SIMFIT: Spreadsheet, Linear and
Nonlinear Regression Analysis with
Statistical Analysis

This program combines a spreadsheet, simple
scatter plot, multiple linear and nonlinear
regression analysis capabilities. It
operates on a matrix of up to 20 columns of
data, each of which can have up to 500 rows
(observations). Data can be read from the
terminal (TTY) or from disk files. Reading
is freeform. Data may be written to the
terminal or to files, in user-designed
formats. Standard and conditional
transformation can be carried out with
algebraic expressions. Linear regression can
be performed, in a user-guided fashion, using
the sweep algorithm. Nonlinear regression
can be carried out with the FIT command.
The sequential SIMPLEX is used for error
minimization, in this case.
